“Digital” “Monsters”

Last week, I put the spotlight on Fist Fight, one of the tabletop games currently nearing the finish line at Arcadian Alchemy.

This week, we’re stepping into the laboratory.

“Dr.” Rob Grave’s Bodybuilding Bash started as a loud, competitive card game about medical malpractice in a graveyard. Players build monsters, steal body parts, sabotage their rivals, and try to survive whatever terrible decisions the other “doctors” make.

Now, I’m working on bringing that same chaos to PC.

The video game keeps the cards, strategy, and deeply questionable medical practices of the tabletop version, while making it easier to get a group together and play. Each player connects with their phone, keeps their cards hidden in their own hand, and uses the main screen as the shared operating table.

A lot of the foundational work is already coming together. Phone connectivity is working, the cards are being implemented and tested, and the interface is being rebuilt around the needs of a digital party game.

The current goal is to finish a strong playable demo and package it alongside a publishing pitch. There is still plenty of work ahead, but for the first time, the full experience is beginning to feel real.

Build your monster. Ruin your friends’ work. Try not to lose anything important in the process.

Welcome back to the lab.
